Redken Haircolor Awards: Submission Guidelines 

 

We're thrilled you're considering entering the Redken Haircolor Awards! This is your chance to showcase your incredible talent and passion for hair color. To ensure a smooth submission process and to highlight your work in the best possible light, please carefully review the following guidelines. We're looking for creativity, precision, and stunning transformations that embody the Redken spirit. 

 

Crafting Your Award-Winning Submission: 

 

  1. FOCUS ON THE HAIR  

  • The hair color and style must be the prominent focal point. 

  • Ensure hair is sharp, in focus, and beautifully illuminated, showcasing all details.

 

  1. GOOD LIGHTING IS ESSENTIAL  

  • Use soft, diffused natural light for accurate color representation. 

  • Avoid harsh shadows, hot spots, or direct flash that distorts color. 

 

  1. SOLID, NEUTRAL BACKGROUND  

  • Place your model against a plain, uncluttered background (e.g., white, gray, black) to keep focus on the hair. 

  • No busy patterns, objects, or heavily filtered backgrounds. 

  • Please ensure no additional clients or people are visible in the background.  

 

  1. NO PRODUCTS IN THE IMAGE  

  • Do not show product bottles, tools, or logos in the photo. This contest celebrates your skill and results. 

 

  1. TOTAL LOOK PRESENTATION  

  • While hair is paramount, a well-executed "total look" enhances your submission. 

  • Ensure complementary styling, makeup, and attire that frames the hair beautifully without distracting from it. 

 

Additional Essential Guidelines: 

  1. HIGH-RESOLUTION IMAGES ONLY  

  • Submit high-quality, high-resolution images (e.g., 300 DPI, min. 2000 pixels on longest side). 

  • JPEG or PNG format. Original work only. 

 

  1. MINIMAL RETOUCHING  

  • Minor cleanup is acceptable (e.g., stray hairs). 

  • Extensive retouching that alters hair color, texture, or shape will lead to disqualification. No heavy filters. 

 

  1. MODEL RELEASE REQUIRED 

  • You must have a signed model release form from anyone in your photo, granting Redken permission for use. 

  • By submitting, you are agreeing to Redken using the image in perpetuity.
